The AdLab is the School of Communications’ professionally mentored, student-led advertising agency whose overarching goal is to bridge the gap between the classroom and the workplace. This innovative learning atmosphere produces creative professionals that are competent and ready to hit the ground running in the advertising world after graduation.

The AdLab works with best in class ad agencies and world-renowned brands all across the globe, providing advertising students the most impactful and well-rounded educational offering possible. Examples of client projects include: ChiatDay and Airbnb, Gatorade; Wieden + Kennedy and Old Spice, Nike; Crispin Porter + Bogusky and VW, Burger King; Droga5 and UNICEF Tap Project; Goodby Silverstein & Partners and Doritos, Haagen Dazs; McCann and Holiday Inn, Nestle, General Mills; FCB and Taco Bell, Levis.

The AdLab is the only student agency to win a Professional One Show Pencil (while setting a world record in the process no less) and is the only student agency of record for The Ad Council and has produced over 40 national public service campaigns.

The AdLab is overseen by the advertising faculty and is directed by a professional mentor, and there are frequently over 150 students working for the lab at any given time.

BYU AdLab alumni are working in many of the biggest and best agencies in the country. Each year those same agencies come to campus to recruit our undergrad students.

The AdLab has won numerous international creative awards including One Show Pencils, D&AD Pencils, AAF ADDYs, and Best in Show Awards. Additionally, the AdLab has won the national student EFFIE competition and placed nationally in the AAF NSAC (National Student Advertising Competition). The lab also boasts social media and eye-tracking capabilities that set them apart from other student-run operations nationally. With access to top-of-the-line equipment and expertise and an emphasis on a well-rounded curriculum integration, and students are sure to leave BYU with unmatched job readiness.
