While at BYU, Jennifer was the recipient of a $20,000 National Broadcasters Education Foundation Scholarship, recognizing her outstanding work in broadcast journalism. She was also awarded RTNDF’s Ed Bradley Scholarship. She worked as a TV news reporter in Salt Lake City before moving to Austin, Texas to take a job as a weekend anchor and reporter for News 8 Austin. She now works part-time for her station, covering parenting and adoption.

Howard’s investment firm has bought and developed in excess of a billion dollars of real estate. Prior to investing and developing for his own partnerships, Howard was the number one rated commercial real estate broker in Las Vegas. Howard is on the Brigham Young University President’s Leadership Council and is Co-chair of its executive committee.

Julian is currently social media marketing specialist for Enfiniti Global, a network marketing company in Houston. Previously he worked for YMCA Marketing in Houston. His background is in public relations writing, graphic design, video production, social media, and photography. He is currently pursuing a masters degree in integrated marketing communication through West Virginia University.

 

Ahmad CorbittAhmad Corbitt, LDS Public Affairs, New York City

A spokesman for the LDS Church, Ahmad interacts with international, national and local media. Ahmad earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and a Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University’s Law School. He is admitted to the bars of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Gary is president of the Foundation for a Better Life. He formerly served as vice president of Bonneville Communications, where he directed the creative development of many successful campaigns. He serves on the board of advisors for the Harvard Center for Media and Child Health and on the national board of directors for the College of Mass Communications at Texas Tech University.

 

Marguerite_Driessen_picMarguerite Driessen, Attorney, Washington, D.C.

Marguerite is a former member of the BYU Law School faculty and taught media law and ethics for the BYU School of Communications. Throughout her career she has appeared as a legal analyst on CNN, Fox News, NPR, and Good Morning America. Marguerite was appointed in 2008 to  the Utah Governor’s Black Advisory Council, where she served two 2-year terms.  She currently works for the United States Department of Justice.

Prior to joining NBC 5, Emily anchored and reported at KUTV in Salt Lake City, reporting on the trial of Elizabeth Smart’s kidnapper and the search for Susan Powell. Emily is an alumna of the BYU School of Communications.

Jane co-hosted CBS News’ The Early Show with Bryant Gumbel. Other assignments at CBS News included reporting for 48 Hours and The CBS Evening News. Before CBS News she reported for ABC News’ Good Morning America and World News tonight. The Radio-Television News Directors Association recognized her work at KSL in Salt Lake City with its Edward R. Murrow Award. Now based in Boston, Jane freelances for NPR and Discovery Channel.

 

santiago luceroSantiago Lucero, Covered California

Winner of six Emmy Awards, Santiago previously was a reporter and anchor for the Univision Television Group in Sacramento. He is currently chief of media relations for Covered California, the state’s health insurance exchange. Santiago is an alumnus of the BYU School of Communications.

 

 Raquel MarvezRaquel Marvez, Broadcast Journalist

Raquel has more than 7 years of producing and reporting, including time with CNN International and the United Nations. Most of her efforts have been focused on reality television and documentary work. She captured footage in Egypt during the 2011 revolution for the documentary Children in the Garden of Democracy. She has created pilot programs and has traveled extensively around the globe.

Josh has worked as a journalist for national news networks CNN and NBC, as well as for local ABC and CBS affiliates. As a marketer, his clients ranged from small businesses and non-profits to international companies. He has traveled extensively and is fluent in 4 languages.

 

Kelsey_Nixon_picKelsey Nixon, Television Producer and Host

Kelsey is host of the Cooking Channel’s Kelsey’s Essentials. While studying communications at BYU, Kelsey developed and hosted her own college cooking show. She interned for Martha Stewart and the Food Network, then attended culinary school. She has competed on The Next Food Network Star, served as a private chef, taught cooking classes at Sur La Table, and developed recipes for corporate brands and restaurants. Kelsey is now working on a new book.

Art is has reported for 28 years from more than 50 countries, five continents, and nearly every state. Previously based in Miami, he covered stories in the southeastern part of the country, as well as in Latin America for the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather. Nominated for 25 Emmy Awards, winner of 19, Art’s accolades also include two Edward R. Murrow Awards, three National Association of Hispanic Journalists Awards, two Headliner Awards, 15 Associated Press awards, and over a dozen outstanding reporting awards from Press Clubs in Houston, Los Angeles, and Miami.

Fernando has extensive experience in national and international media relations, public affairs, issues management, integrated marketing communications, and M&A/divestiture communications. He now works with investor relations on SEC and other regulatory filings. His experience includes leadership positions at Fortune 100 companies, PR agencies, and non-profits.
