BYU School of Communications Live Stream Event to Discuss Race in America

The BYU School of Communications will discuss race in America and progress made since the Kerner Commission’s report in a live stream event.

This Friday, Oct. 26, the School of Communications will be hosting a live stream event in the Brimhall Building atrium starting at 9 a.m.

BYU, along with Morgan State and West Virginia University, will be participating in an examination of race in America and what has been accomplished since the Kerner Commission Report was issued 50 years ago.

The BYU portion of the event  will consist of a BYUtv Newsline broadcast, followed by a radio interview by BYU Radio’s Julie Rose with LaShawn Williams of UVU. There will also be a panel discussion moderated by Othello Richards and including Cameron McCoy and Tamu Smith.

Event Details

Morgan State: 9 a.m.- 10:30 a.m.

West Virginia: 10:30 a.m.- noon

BYU: noon-1:30 p.m.

Pizza will be served at noon
