Hannah Wing, Ph.D., graduated from BYU with her B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in Advertising in 2015, and went on to earn her Ph.D. in Communication from The Ohio State University in 2021. Her research interests are in the domain of media effects, with a focus on advertising, entertainment, and social media. She is particularly interested in the relationship between media consumers and media personae, and the way those relationships impact persuasion, attitude formation, and decision making. Her work has been published in Journal of Communication, Communication Monographs, and PlosOne. Before joining the faculty at BYU, she worked for five years as an assistant professor at Wichita State University.
In her personal life, Hannah enjoys reading, traveling, being in nature, and spending time with her friends and family.
