
Two journalism faculty members from Chile spent a week teaching and collaborating at the School of Communications.
Myriam Ruiz and Paulina Maureira worked with students, faculty and staff at BYU from April 8-12. Ruiz and Maureira come from the Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago, Chile.
While at BYU, they gave a presentation in a media law and ethics course; attended devotional; assisted a public relations class with writing social media posts in Spanish; led a workshop for journalism students interested in Spanish-language reporting and writing; and participated in the Kappa Tau Alpha honor society induction.
BYU and the Universidad del Desarrollo also began discussions about an annual student internship exchange program.
