QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANT
Strong organizational ability
- Strong understanding of multiple media platforms Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Linkedin, X, etc
- Strong in writing and editing, especially across multiple platforms.
Ex. Can you write a youtube description, an instagram caption and a newsletter document?
- Basic/Moderate familiarity with things like canva or photoshop
- Able to create and maintain a content posting schedule
- Receptive to feedback from managers
- Speaks Spanish (would be extremely useful, because then we cover En, Fr, Es between the two of us)
Soft Skills
- Ability to ask questions and translate engineering language to general public lingo.
- Collaborative and able to appreciate different aspects of the research
- Self-motivated and goal setting
- Cultural sensitivity
- Interest in the general GEOGLOWS impact, water resources, environmental research, or related scientific topics.
- Enthusiasm for communicating the real-world impact of research to stakeholders, partners, and the public.
- Interest in helping increase public awareness and understanding of water-related challenges and solutions.
DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES
Leads our communications and project awareness for the GEOGLOWS Impact Team by translating research, project outcomes, and stakeholder insights. Works with our team and stakeholders to make clear and engaging content to share. Manages team messaging, outreach, and communication materials to strengthen the visibility and impact of GEOGLOWS.
