QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANT
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
- Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
- Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
- Up-to-date with industry leading software and technologies
- Professionalism regarding deadlines, attitude, and working manner
DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES
The House That Lars Built is looking for a creative and innovative graphic design intern who can capture the Lars brand in written words. The intern will help our editorial team write content for our newsletter, and format the newsletters for our subscribers. This internship can be remote.
. You will work alongside our designers and marketing team to meet product and editorial goals and deadlines. You will be in charge of our newsletter by aiding in graphics, copy, animation, and more. A previous knowledge of newsletters is not required though helpful. This internship can be remote.
- Work with marketing and creative team to develop strategy
- Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software
- Write copy for regular newsletters about our DIY projects, product launches, and marketing efforts such as sales.
- Schedule out posts and work with marketing on campaigns
- Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts
- Prepare rough drafts and present your ideas
- Cultivate a solid body of work
- Use Active Campaign program to format and schedule newsletters - this includes writing copy, selecting color schemes, adding photos and graphic, and choosing fonts.
- Brainstorm new newsletter marketing campaigns
- Create unique content different from that launching on our blog or social media, to offer followers exclusive reasons to subscribe
- Help with growth in subscribers and grow open and click rates
