Vai Sikahema was recently inducted into the Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame.
Vai Sikahema, a graduate of the broadcast program in BYU’s College of Fine Arts and Communications was honored with an induction into the Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame.
Sikahema did not begin his broadcast career until after his successful NFL career. During the course of his football years, he played for the BYU Cougars, the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles where he played running back and kickoff returner from 1986 to 1993.
When his NFL career came to a close, Sikahema made the decision to pursue a career in his field of study: broadcast journalism. During his time in the news industry, he has received two Emmys as well as the Deseret News President’s Award for his weekly column in the Deseret News.
Sikahema currently works for NBC10 in Philadelphia as a reporter and anchor.
“All the people who have taught me television are all the people here at NBC10,” he shared. “The producers, the photographers, everyone here has really taught me journalism. I appreciate that so much. I try hard and I work hard. I love the job.”
