Kim Farah

Kim Farah joined the Public Affairs Department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in November 1998. Previously, she worked as a professional in news broadcasting for ten years as an anchor, producer and reporter.

Kim was a spokeswoman for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 12 years working with national media including Newsweek, Time, NBC Nightly News and National Geographic. She has also appeared on CNN, the Today Show and numerous other television broadcasts.

She now works in the Area Relations Division where she oversees public affairs work in Europe, the Philippines and the southwest and southeastern areas of the United States. She assists public affairs directors in all aspects of their work from reaching out to opinion leaders and media, to organizing temple open houses, and providing in-country training. In addition to these responsibilities, Kim is the publicist for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir facilitating news stories such as a 15 minute feature on CBS This Morning and articles in Forbes and the New York Times.

Kim has a BA in Broadcast Journalism and a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication from Brigham Young University. Her master’s thesis took her China to study media messages associated with the One Child Policy. Kim is the mother of two young men; Daniel who was recently married after returning from a mission in Barcelona, Spain, and Joshua, who is currently serving in the Chile Santiago West Mission.
