QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANT
o Experience with professional camera gear and video production.
o Experience with video editing, sound, and graphics.
o Proficiency in editing software like Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or similar.
o Basic understanding of camera techniques, lighting, and sound.
o Strong attention to detail with a passion for producing high-quality work.
o Creative vision, self-starter, self-motivated, and problem solver.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a positive, collaborative environment.
o Strong communication and organizational skills.
o Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
o Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Media Arts, or similar.
o Having your own camera and video production equipment is helpful.
DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES
• Video Production: Assist in planning, shooting, and editing video content that highlights research accomplishments of faculty and students, as well as department events, interviews, and student activities.
• Storytelling: Work with the External Relations team to develop creative narratives and produce engaging video content that aligns with the department’s mission and objectives while documenting historic milestones.
• Team Collaboration: Join a team of five employees in a supportive and positive work environment, contributing to brainstorming sessions and video projects.
• Event Coverage: Attend and capture video footage at department events, including lectures, conferences, and student activities.
• Post-Production: Assist with video editing, adding music, sound, and graphics, and ensuring high-quality finished products.
• Problem Solving: When a problem is encountered, seek guidance and answers to resolve the issue to create the best possible end product.
• Equipment Management: Help with the scheduling, setup, and maintenance of video production equipment; having your own camera, equipment, and/or software is beneficial.
• Weekly Meetings: Attend weekly team meetings to discuss ongoing projects and align with departmental vision and mission.
