Media lawyer and professor Randy L. Dryer will speak to communications students and faculty on Thursday, March 21 in the Brimhall building on campus.
Dryer’s presentation will address the media’s use of the Internet; news organizations’ interaction with their audiences online; the use of content submitted by readers and viewers; blogs, whether kept by media staff or the public; liability for defamation for statements made online; and copyright and privacy law.
Randy Dryer is one of Utah’s best-known media lawyers and now a law professor at the University of Utah. He also worked previously as a broadcast journalist.
