Second of Three Beckham Lectures to Focus on Public Perception of LDS

The Department of Communications will present the second of three lectures in the Raymond E. and Ida Lee Beckham Lecture in Communications series this Thursday, October 3.

The speaker, BYU’s Dr. J.B. Haws, will deliver his lecture titled, “In the Conversation:  LDS Public Affairs and the Shaping of Public Perception from Romney to Romney.”

Dr. Haws is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Church History and Doctrine.  He earned his PhD in American History from the University of Utah with an emphasis on twentieth-century Latter-day Saint history.  His areas of research include twentieth-century LDS history and public perception of Latter-day Saints.

This event is open to the public.  All communications students are encouraged to attend this lecture, which will be held in the library auditorium at 11:00 a.m.

The third and final lecture in the series will take place on October 31.  More details on this event to follow.
